Lights brighten Ridge View athletic fields to let staff, community know they're missed at events

Ridge View High School and high school athletic fields across Iowa are being lighted each Friday night to let students, coaches, school staff and communities know they are missed at athletic events during the COVID-19 outbreak. The “Light up Iowa” initiative came about by the Iowa High School Athletic Director’s Association. Here, lights brighten the Ridge View High School football and baseball fields. On Friday, Governor Kim Reynolds announced that schools would remain closed through the end of the current school year. Spring sports have been canceled. A decision on summer sports will be made before June 1.
